This is an emulsion-based flavoring which means it can withstand heating when added to your cakes and other items that are heated. Unlike extracts which cannot withstand heating emulsions are the best flavoring when you are adding heat to the mix.

Use the flavoring in the same portion that your recipe calls for example if calling for vanilla substitute the Butter Vanilla for vanilla.
